Chance, Challenge, and change – the first year of ZPL

I have always been a believer in creativity and contemporary ideas – in chance, challenge, and change. When there is a chance for one to improve, one would face and accept challenges, learn, adapt, and eventually overcome: bringing change.

The cliche saying “what doesn't kill you makes you stronger” is cliche for a reason. Going from 0 to 1 is always the hardest, and as the founding co-chairman of ZPL, I could not have experienced this more vividly. Everything was a “first” – crafting the structure of the whole league (now committee) from nothing, writing invitation emails from scratch, starting everything from zero – creating everything with our own hands, writing every document, discussing every detail letter by letter, and ever so steadily, pushing through and moving forward, overcoming, growing.

As someone who’s opportunities were suppressed in his childhood, when I was lucky enough to experience such valuable chances in ZPL, I knew just how important each opportunity was, and how much it can change a person. Therefore, I am very happy, to be able to not only gain experience in different elements and pressure my interest in ZPL like fashion, video editing, designing, and more but to give these chances to different people who want or need them.

I have grown together with the league, having the chance to challenge myself. I have never found challenges to be something to fear, something to avoid – rather as blessings in disguise, important lessons and success waiting to be unraveled. As previously mentioned, what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger. And who does not want to be stronger? I love challenging myself and pushing myself to the limits, the sense of achievement, accomplishment, and acknowledgment you have for yourself afterward is worth it, not to mention all the fun experiences, friends, and core memories you made on the way.

And finally, change. To change is to move forward, tackle problems that affect us, and actively face our greatest challenges. It is easier said than done, even though it already sounds pretty hard just listening to it. Challenges only get harder and harder, and it might not always be an effective and rational decision to just face everything head-on, hoping to break all the barriers. As times change, it is important always to be flexible and learn to solve puzzles using creative methods and tactics, adapting to every situation while being open to the possibilities - even those that might seem ridiculous initially. Do not be afraid to take initiative, make a change, and think from different angles and perspectives, as this will not only make you more open-minded and effective, but also allow you to get past taller and stronger barriers.

With that, I conclude this simple yet important blog, I am very happy to be able to share what I’ve learnt with all of you, and I can’t wait to walk together on ZPL’s road to success as we broaden our eyesight and step foot into international areas. Please look forward to our future works, feel free to check out our Youtube channel and the rest of our webpage, and thankyou so much for your time!
